The Early Years...

 

The original Lynda Kay & the Lickity Splits from left Andrew "The Kid" Dorsett at age 14 (piano), Joshua Piscioneri (guitar and announcer), Nick "TheBrick" Scarmack (drums and co-writer), Larry Muradian (upright bass), Bryan Edgar (clarinet, saxophone, and harmonica, and Lynda Kay (vocals, tap dancing, and ukulele).

Lynda Kay & the Lickity Splits (known as "Lickity") began in 1998 as a Ragtime, Swing, Old Country and Bawdy Blues band. Lickity recorded their first album in 1999 entitled "Hot Nuts" featuring tunes from the 1920's and 1930's (except for LK's first original tune "Angel of the Night"). By 2000, Lynda Kay decided to combine her acting and musical talents and turned Lickity into a Rockin' Cabaret Show changing costumes and characters on stage up to 8 times in one set and collaborated with drummer Nick "the Brick" Scarmack to write all original tunes for the new show. Assisted in costume changes by Mistress Chris, flanked by dancers, adding a complete horn section, and choreography introduced a whole new cabaret experience (The quote from one fan was "This ain't your grandma's cabaret!") This is the life-size cutout that came to every single Lickity Show. It was our good luck charm--there were only two times I forgot it: the first time Larry, the bass player, was in a car accident on the way to the gig (he was fine, but his car wasn't) and the other time I fell off the stage--ouch! The band thought the fall was on purpose.

Lois Labia (pronounced La-Bee-Ya)-a has been lounge singer with a penchant for any man (especially the men in her band). Songs performed "Give it a Whirl" and "Smokin'". She was huge for a week in '52 in the Ukraine.

  Evil Britney-an ego maniacal pop star famous for her mega pop hit "Everybody's in Love with Me". She often tours with her baby sister "FetusHead"--The World's Youngest Pop Star (picture not available).

 

Lickity performed regularly at the Atlas Supper Club (connected to the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles) and numerous other supper clubs, private parties, and festivals sharing stages with such diverse artists as Anita O'Day and Berlin. In 2001, Lickity was named one of the Best Local Music Acts of Los Angeles along with Metal Skool, Ozomatli, and Queens of the Stoneage and performed at the Best of Los Angeles Festival.
